New Opportunities to Help!
Give Us A Hand
Cornell/Lake Holcombe Community Learning Centers were originally funded by a three-year Department of Education federal grant. Since then, these programs have been funded by state grants and the generosity and dedication of foundations and community organizations including the Rutledge Foundation, Cornell City Council, the Lions Club, and others.
Current funding will be significantly reduced over the next two years. In order to continue to meet the needs of the community and provide these vital programs, Monetary gifts are needed. If you or your organization would like to give us a hand by making a monetary donation, or if you would like to volunteer, please contact us. Volunteers play a vital role in the Community Learning Center Programs. There are many different volunteer opportunities available. Volunteers are needed: To read one-on-one with After School kids. To help with homework. To chaperone After School Field Trips. To share their talents and teach a new skill. To help with child care during family programs. To teach a community education class. To help senior citizens with computer skills. To lead a community service project. Whether you have an hour per week or an occasional afternoon, there is a volunteer job for you! |
